RAKOCEVIC: Victims of iPro Realty collapse have waited too long for justice

QUEEN’S PARK — Ontario NDP Shadow Minister for Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement Tom Rakocevic (Humber River—Black Creek) is continuing to call on the Ford government to deliver justice for realtors impacted by iPro Realty’s collapse.

MPP Rakocevic joined victims at another Queen’s Park rally, today, as affected realtors continue to wait for the Ford government to deliver full restitution.

“You can’t have a trust fund without trust,” said Rakocevic. “This is one of the most unbelievably-handled regulatory failures that Ontario has ever seen. Half a year later, victims are still waiting for justice. It’s unacceptable.”

Ontario New Democrats join the victims of this scandal in demanding that they receive 100 per cent of their lost commissions.

“The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) had a responsibility to ensure that this doesn’t happen, and the Ford government failed in their own responsibility to provide oversight,” added Rakocevic. “This scandal is just the latest on a long list of regulatory failures by the Ford government.”

“This should never have happened. The victims deserve justice, and for every penny to be paid back to them.”
