Ontario NDP posts record post-election-year Q1 with $750,000 raised from more than 20,000 contributions

Average contribution of $30 reflects broad grassroots support.

TORONTO – Marit Stiles' Ontario NDP raised $750,000 in the first quarter of 2026 from 20,500 contributions, making the strongest Q1 fundraising result in a post-election year in party history, with 10 percent of donors contributing for the first time.

"This is the best Q1 fundraising result in a post-election year, and it tells you who's powering our movement: health care workers, education workers, trades workers – regular working people are chipping in to build a movement that actually fights for them," said Ali Chatur, Provincial Director of the Ontario NDP.

The Q1 result follows a record-breaking 2025, in which the party raised $7.9 million from 106,000 contributions, with more individual donors than the Ontario PC Party and the Ontario Liberals combined for the second consecutive year, according to Elections Ontario data. Under Marit Stiles' leadership, the Ontario NDP has raised $19.25 million from 332,600 contributions, with an average contribution of just $57. Nearly 80 percent of contributions were under $100.

"Doug Ford answers to insiders. Marit Stiles answers to people. At a time when Doug Ford is closing the door to regular Ontarians, we're opening our doors. We’re listening. We’re mobilizing tens of thousands of students and young people to Save OSAP. We’re hosting events all across the province. We’re on the ground in Scarborough Southwest preparing to win that by-election,” said Chatur.

People are stepping up because they believe Marit Stiles should be the next Premier of Ontario, and they see where their money goes: engaging communities across the province, reaching working people who've been left behind, and building the movement to win government and deliver change.”
